Integrate with CargoWise
By leveraging ChainIO, CargoWise users can send shipment data to Lune, receive emissions calculations, and have the results sent back into their CargoWise system. No coding necessary! You don’t have to be a ChainIO customer to take advantage of this seamless integration, and there are no additional costs as a result of using ChainIO.We understand that every CargoWise setup is unique. After reviewing this guide, get in touch with our team, and we’ll ensure the integration works smoothly for your specific configuration.Pre-requisites
Complete the following setup steps before using this guide:Ensure you have a CargoWise eAdaptor. Raise a ticket with CargoWise help desk if not.
1. Set up your CargoWise eAdaptor
Lune uses ChainIO as an intermediary to receive your shipment data and send back emission calculations. The Cargowise eAdaptor enables data transfer to and from CargoWise. ChainIO can communicate directly with this eAdaptor or via a proxy server configured for data movement. We can also help set up a dedicated endpoint in ChainIO for sending and receiving data.In summary, the first step is to establish a data transfer link between CargoWise and ChainIO. We’ll guide you through the process!2. Configure ChainIO
Please get in touch with us when you’re ready, and we will schedule a call to configure ChainIO for you. This call typically takes no more than an hour, and requires a member of your team that is technically adept at using and configuring CargoWise. If you wish to integrate your eAdaptor directly, we will likely require the following details on the call about your eAdaptor:- Name
- Enterprise ID
- Server ID
- Incoming Sender ID
- HTTP address
- Username and password
- Endpoint
3. Set up your triggers
With your data connection established, define the trigger for sending shipments to Lune for emissions calculations.Once the shipment is sent, Lune calculates the emissions estimate and returns the result to CargoWise. In the notes section the shipment, you’ll find:- The total tCO₂e emitted from the shipment.
- A shareable link with the details of the calculation. This page gives you full transparency into how the calculation was made, including the emission factors used for each leg and any distance algorithms used.
