Authentication

The Lune API uses API keys to authenticate all requests. API keys act as Bearer tokens and must be included in the Authorization header of your API requests:
  • Authorization header
    • API keys allow you to securely interact with Lune services.

    Create an API key

    To create an API key, navigate to the Developers tab in the Lune Dashboard. Note that only admins have the necessary permissions to generate keys.Lune supports both test and live API keys:
    • Test API Keys: To create one, toggle test mode in the bottom left corner of the Dashboard and follow the same steps to generate a key.
      • Simulate offsetting orders without incurring charges or retiring credits.
      • Perform test emission calculations. Test emission calculations return real estimates and therefore may incur charges.
    • Live API Keys: When ready to go live, switch back to live mode in the Dashboard and create a new key.
